Hope & A Future For The Children of Tijuana
Gayla took her first trip to Mexico in 2002 when a new friend she had met at church blessed her and her three children with the mission trip. For the next five years she continued taking mission trips to Mexico to build houses for families in Tijuana.
Ten years ago she took what she thought would be her last trip to Mexico and came back to Las Vegas and a promotion to Coordinator at Levi Strauss. In 2014, God called her out of her job at Levi Strauss and into ministry at a local church as Women's Ministry leader, Administrator, and head of the Prayer Ministry. In the 3 years that followed she has felt the call to return to Mexico and be part of the work that is being done in Tijuana. She returned to the mission field taking trips to Mexico in 2017 and has fallen in love with children of The Refuge.
She still works at the local church in Las Vegas but has now been called to also lead mission teams from the U.S. to support and help The Refuge. She has grabbed hold of the vision of building 20 homes for children in Mexico and wants to be part of it.
She now serves as our Administrator and U.S. Group Coordinator at The Refuge.
